We recently got back from a week in Spain staying near Estepona. Whilst there we visited some old friends who have recently completed a build near Aznajar. They have wonderful views, a bit like us, and seem very happy there.
We took a day trip to Tangiers, and Lynn had real trouble with Arabs trying to sell her things all the time. We also had a day in Granada, a lovely city, and a visit to the fabulous Alhambra Palace. Our experiences with Spanish cities have been very positive so far, the two we have seen have been really beautiful. Finally we had a day on the rock of Gibraltar where Lynn enjoyed the monkeys.
Back at the Quinta work continues, we came back to find all the exterior doors and windows on the Adega. We quickly arranged with help from our friends Jane and Hugh to move all our stored furniture from upstairs (in what will be our lounge) to the area under the Adega.
The builders are currently working on the “Little House”, which apparently was occupied until about ten years ago. It consisted of two rooms, one ground floor and one first floor, not large enough for modern accommodation, we will use it as a store. It was in dire need of a bit of tlc, we are having the walls stabilised, a new roof and one floor refurbished.
They are also building a room for the machines and pipe work for our borehole and geo-thermal heating. Additionally they are piping the village water underneath what will be our courtyard, so that our neighbours supply will not be interrupted. The tiler is back today, and will hopefully begin to lay floor tiles in the Quinta.
